Josh Bolch

Pastor

Pastor Josh became our pastor in July of 2020. He has been married to his wife Tammy since 2006 and they have six children: Noah, Holly, Caroline, Luke, Daniel, and Susan. Josh was a pastor for seven years before coming to Northwest Hills Baptist. He earned his Bachelor of Christian Ministry from Wayland Baptist University and his Master of Theological Studies from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. The Bolch Family strives for a home and a church where the truth and grace of Jesus Christ are abundantly found.

Gilpatrick Peyton

NWHCS Principal

Mr. Peyton was born in San Marcos, Texas and is the middle of five children. Throughout his childhood and high school, he was active in church and school musicals and plays. He attended what was then called Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos to be trained as a teacher and principal (theater major, English minor), graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Masters of Education degree.

He was saved at Glorieta Baptist Camp in 1988. He married his wife, Rhonda, in 1989. She has been a dance teacher and elections administrator. The Peytons have two adult children: Greg graduated from Hardin Simmons University and is an audiobook narrator and actor in Dallas. Rebekah attended the University of Mary Hardin Baylor and is a teacher in Waco and is married to Jake Raabe, a seminary graduate/Bible teacher/book editor.

Mr. Peyton came to us after 30 years of experience as teacher and principal. He is also a long-time deacon and servant in the church.

Jennifer Peterson

Secretary

Jennifer was born and raised on the south side of San Antonio. Growing up, she attended Harlandale Baptist Church, Harlandale Middle School, and Harlandale High School (her father even sent his dry cleaning to Harlandale Dry Cleaners!). She was on the cradle roll at Central Baptist Church, and her family moved their membership to Harlandale Baptist Church when she was four. At the age of nine, she accepted Jesus into her heart at GA Camp at Alto Frio Baptist Encampment and was baptized soon after.

Her first paying job, while I was in high school, was in the church nursery. In college, she was appointed by the Home Mission Board to serve in Moss Point, Mississippi, in the summer of 1987.

To say she grew up in church is an understatement—she was there every time the doors were open, and she still is. She served for three years as the secretary at Shavano Baptist Church before coming to Northwest Hills in 2003.

William Ford

Youth group leader

William Ford has been an example of a servant’s heart at NWHBC, where he has attended since childhood. Since being a youth, a helping hand, and volunteer, he now dedicates his time to the youth group leader position, stepping into the role in 2018. The ministry is Bible-focused and adventure-filled for youth, committing to make an impact in their lives before they set off for college.

Jena Blackhope

Children’s Ministry Coordinator

Jena Blackhope has been an exciting addition to NWHBC. Initially serving as a preschool teacher at NWH School, she has now joined NWHBC as Children Ministry Coordinator. Her artistic background and teaching knowledge has blessed children, families, and volunteers since 2023. Her presence has allowed families to enjoy service with a sound mind, knowing that children are always monitored and engaged in bible lessons.

Deborah Davenport

Nursery Staff

A member since 2007, Deborah Davenport has been serving NWHBC Children’s Ministry faithfully and joyfully. A long time volunteer, Deborah accepted the nursery staff position in 2024. Her many years of experience of caring for infants and bible lessons with first graders has made her a blessing to children and the church.

Brad Nevels

Janitor

Brad Nevels has been involved at NWHBC since 2022. A veteran and a servant, he takes on many tasks that keep NWHBC functioning and enjoyable for church members and visitors throughout the week.
